Mr Fats Teye Nartey, Regional Co-ordinating Director told ADM that "shocking" pictures were selected for the two-week long exhibition to "awake" people to know the reality and consequence of HIV/AIDS.

He said the target for the exhibition would be lorry parks, markets and churches. He said the council would take advantage of this Christmas to mount such exhibitions at most of the Christmas conventions' grounds across the capital.

He said the council would concentrate more on "distance lorry parks" because drivers of long distance vehicles are noted to be one among the most affected HIV/AIDS groups.

Mr Nartey said his office would alongside the exhibition undertake activities that would promote safer sex among the public. He noted that everybody could fall victim to the menace and appealed to public to live risk-free lives.

He said after January, the council would sit and plan different series of activities to intensify the campaign against HIV/AIDS in the Greater Accra Region.

Sheikh I.C Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister said although various organizations are working tirelessly to reduce HIV/AIDS infection, in order to mitigate the impact on the society, yet, "the prevalence rate of infection has not reduced to any appreciable levels".
